Cookbook Studio
Recipes, and the book they add up to.
Recipes, and the book they add up to. The continuity is unglamorous and strict — yields, units, oven language and a house voice that must hold over two hundred entries — and the photography has a cast's problem exactly: one kitchen, one light, two hundred times. Testing a recipe is the step with no analogue here, and it cannot be generated.
This Studio is planned, not built. It is here so the shape is visible
and can be argued with before it exists.
The workflow
Four phases, and only the stages this kind of production actually has —
a commercial has no bible, and showing one would make the tool read as television
software to everybody who is not making television.
